  8. About the ARRL
  9.  
  10. The American Radio Relay League, Inc (ARRL) is a noncommercial 
  11. association of radio amateurs, organized for the promotion of 
  12. interest in Amateur Radio communication and experimentation, for 
  13. the establishment of networks to provide communications in the 
  14. event of disasters or other emergencies, for the advancement of 
  15. the radio art and of the public welfare, for the representation of 
  16. the radio amateur in legislative matters, and for the maintenance 
  17. of fraternalism and a high standard of conduct.

  19. ARRL is an incorporated association without capital stock 
  20. chartered under the laws of the State of Connecticut, and is an 
  21. exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal 
  22. Revenue Code of 1986. Its affairs are governed by a Board of 
  23. Directors, whose voting Members are elected every two years by the 
  24. general membership. The officers are elected or appointed by the 
  25. Directors. The League is noncommercial, and no one who could gain 
  26. financially from the shaping of its affairs is eligible for 
  27. membership on its Board.

  29. "Of, by, and for the radio amateur," ARRL numbers within its ranks 
  30. the vast majority of active amateurs in the nation and has a proud 
  31. history of achievement as the standard-bearer in amateur affairs.

  72. ARRL Technical Coordinators and Technical Specialists in the field and at

  76. packages. For really difficult questions, one of our Laboratory Engineers
